If you’d rather not spend over $10, the Basic plan might be the right option for you, however you will be restricted to standard-definition (SD) streaming and only be able to view and download onto one device. If you want to get the most out of a Stan subscription, you’ll need an internet plan with enough speed for interruption-free viewing. Stan Sport is an add-on, that as the name suggests, adds sport to Stan. Stan Sport will cost you an extra $15 per month on top of your current Stan subscription and will give you access to all things Rugby live, and on demand. Stan’s parent company Nine is planning to invest in additional exclusive sports rights, and has already secured Wimbledon and the French Open. All matches on all courts will be broadcast live, and select matches are available to watch on-demand.
The main sporting codes available on Stan Sport are rugby union, tennis, football and motorsport, although more sports may be added further down the line. In addition to live matches, Stan Sport will also have a library of classic matches, highlights and recaps, giving you something to watch in-between seasons. Alternatively, if you’re a sports fan, Stan Sport offers a number of competitions and leagues for you to enjoy, including tennis competitions such as Wimbledon and Roland-Garros, the UEFA Champions League football or Australian rugby matches. Another thing to keep in mind is that you can download content to more devices on a Standard or Premium plan, meaning that you can watch movies and TV offline. This could be handy if you have unreliable internet access or are trying to limit your internet and data usage.
